After a lot of crazy up and down weather, the trees are finally starting to bloom in Kansas City! I was so excited to get out and shoot at Loose Park this week with this lovely family and the temperature couldn't have been more perfect. After battling cold and wind and rain for many sessions during the beginning of the year and having to reschedule or fight through it.. it was so refreshing to have this win :)
Kate is the co-owner and hair stylist at him.her.them Hair Studio just West of the Country Club Plaza. She started doing my hair when she worked at another salon and it's been so fun to watch her transition to her dream of owning her own place (and p.s. it's an adorable space). She told me her daughter, Bee, hasn't wanted to take her suspenders off ever since the P!nk concert a month or so ago :) Blake's passion is sculpting/art... how fun it was to capture these images for two other creatives!! Oh, and it turns out that a Tuesday night is the perfect time to shoot at Loose Park because for once it wasn't too overrun with people!
Right in the midst of a stormy summer weekend in Northwest Arkansas, the sun shone for the entire Meinzer wedding. Several months ago I had the opportunity to shoot Jake & Kristy's engagement session at this rustic barn venue near Bentonville and it was fun to see it again all set up for their wedding day!! These two newly weds met in college. They hit it off right away, but despite a wonderful friendship, didn't start dating until almost 10 years later. They both view being friends for so long before getting married as such a blessing. They got to know each other and each other's families well in a no-pressure environment before dating which took a lot of stress away and made wedding planning a (relative) breeze!
