A beautifully simple Spring wedding at Pierponts in Kansas City Union Station. A sunny, 70 degree day was the cherry on top to an already joyful occasion as Alli & Jill said “I do.”Read More
Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs, Colorado were the perfect backdrops for this elegant, wintery, mauve styled shoot. I had always wondered what Manitou would look like from the road leading up to Cave of the Winds, and it was every bit as good as I had hoped!Read More
I feel so lucky to have gotten to end my 2018 with such a bang because of this California wedding! What a treat it was to escape the cold for a bit and celebrate the beginning of Kevin & Dayna’s life together on December 1st. These two met through mutual friends who played matchmaker for them. Their friends thought they’d be good together and it turns out, they were right!Read More
Kay says that Brian is goofy, intelligent, hard-working, sweet, and so many other wonderful adjectives. He is so passionate about many things in his life and she doesn’t think anyone who meets him could ever dislike him. He has such a sincere way about him, she made it a point to say she’s marrying a “good one.”Read More
This amazing couple met through work. Trent is an emergency manager (he sets off the tornado sirens) and Jenni is a meteorologist (she is the one that issues the tornado warnings for him to set off the sirens!). They were friends/work colleagues for awhile but we quickly realized that wasn't enough!Read More
What a beautiful, perfect wedding day these two had last weekend! I was so honored to play such a special role in their big day and it truly was a blast. Bla and Brian met at work and started to become interested in each other, but knew they couldn't do anything about it at that point. When Brian decided to leave the company, Bla stepped out of her comfort zone and asked him out (yeah girl!). It's so obvious that they care so much for each other and I can't believe I was blessed enough to get to capture this special day for them as they begin their journey into marriage!Read More
An elegant Kansas wedding on a 75 degree day at The Barn at Schwinn Produce Farm in Leavenworth. Literally everything went so perfectly at this wedding, I couldn’t believe it! Amazing vendors like Sara Enderle (wedding coordinator) from Vintage Rentals KC and Derek Hoffman from Levity Events (DJ) + the amazing style of this bride and her wonderful friends and family topped off the perfection of the day.Read More
Greg and Kari met at a country bar in Overland Park, Kansas. Greg thought he was too cool for Kari and Kari thought she was too cool for him, so of course they ended up talking. Eventually Kari said, "So, do you want to go out with me or what?" They went out on their first date and have been together ever since :)Read More
Right in the midst of a stormy summer weekend in Northwest Arkansas, the sun shone for the entire Meinzer wedding. Several months ago I had the opportunity to shoot Jake & Kristy's engagement session at this rustic barn venue near Bentonville and it was fun to see it again all set up for their wedding day!! These two newly weds met in college. They hit it off right away, but despite a wonderful friendship, didn't start dating until almost 10 years later. They both view being friends for so long before getting married as such a blessing. They got to know each other and each other's families well in a no-pressure environment before dating which took a lot of stress away and made wedding planning a (relative) breeze!Read More
Ryan & Jamie celebrated their union on a hot, June day in North Kansas City. The Courtyard at Briarcliff where the got ready was the perfect spot for their first look and bridal party photos in order to escape the 97 degree heat just outside the doors. Trezo Mare Restaurant's patio space was the backdrop for their ceremony and reception and thankfully some shade was provided by the building next door.Read More
A sunny, Missouri wedding at the Weston Red Barn Farm with pastel colors, succulents, and the goofiest of wedding parties. For their wedding day, Holly and Chris envisioned a celebration! Having food, friends, family and dancing is the best combination... and especially since it was for the purpose of them uniting together! Holly wanted it to be special for the two of them and to feel every moment, the grass under her toes (because yes, she got married barefoot because she is awesome like that), watching Chris' facial expressions, laughing and smiling through their first dance because that's what he does to her, dancing with her best friend, and stuffing her face with cupcakes. In retrospect, I'd say her hopes and dreams for the day definitely came true ;)Read More

My brother had been dating his girlfriend for about 11 months. We don't talk on the phone very often so when he called me to work out some details about an upcoming trip to visit my husband and I in Kansas City, I just KNEW what he was about to say. When he told me he was planning on proposing while they were in town and needed some help with the plan, I wasn't surprised but I certainly was off my rocker with excitement... because Malena is amazing and perfect for him!!! Corban graduated from CU Denver with a Audio Recording degree last year and Malena has one year left there before she graduates with the same degree. So basically, she gets his world. Not only that, but they are in a band together (he is an incredible drummer and she plays bass guitar) and she has toured with him across the country in another band as well! I told him that a girl who is willing to put up with that kind of lifestyle (sketchy venues, less than ideal living conditions, lots of road time with stinky boys, etc.) is one in a million and that he'd better hold on to her. It looks like he listened :)
Besides being as go-with-the-flow and easy-to-please as he is, Malena is confident in her faith, has the sweetest demeanor and even drinks her coffee black! I absolutely can't believe I'm so lucky to gain her as a sister; she already has no trouble clicking with our family! I won't be doing their wedding photos so I can truly be present and celebrate them on the big day - but it's coming up in a quick 3.5 months in Denver and I can't wait!!!

Nick and Kristie’s downtown Kansas City wedding was nothing short of spectacular. It rained during their engagement session a few months back (remember that?) and thunderstorms were scheduled for the whole afternoon/evening of their wedding too. THANKFULLY our luck held out and we saw clear skies right up until the moment they did their exit!!
Nick and Kristie coached at the same gym for about a year before Kristie left Vegas to go back to school in Kentucky. After a year apart, they reconnected and began dating long distance for two years. Kristie said that the distance only made their relationship stronger and now they have been together for over six years!
Every year since 2010, they've gone to Maryville, MO for homecoming at Northwest Missouri State (Nick’s alma mater). They take a walk on campus before the homecoming parade and sometimes stop at certain spots to take photos along the way. One of the first photos they took in 2010 was at the ‘kissing bridge’ on campus. This last homecoming was especially memorable as they decided to take a photo on that same bridge and then Nick got on one knee to ask Kristie to marry him. Kristie said it was perfect, just the two of them and his best friend to capture the moment - a memory they will never forget!! Fast forward to September 9, 2016 -->
Kristie describes Nick as thoughtful, hardworking and funny and says one her favorite things about him is his relationship with his family, especially his parents. She says she just knows he is going to be the best dad and she loves that.
Nick describes Kristie as dedicated, passionate and caring and says that one of his favorite things about her is that she works hard for what she wants.
Some of the words they used to describe their relationship are fun-loving, comforting, passionate and effortless. Effortless… I love that one! I know sometimes love can be complicated, but it shouldn’t always have to be!
I can NOT get over this downtown Kansas City wedding venue! I work just up the street during the week so it was so special to see a new perspective/vantage point of everything that is so familiar to me :)
It was such a privilege to play a role in Kristie and Nick’s story and I’m so thankful for the ensuing friendship! Huge thanks to all the other vendors who helped pull this very perfect day together for this sweet couple:
